Finally we have Spanish software
By admin | April 22, 2010
We have been translating, testing and changing a lot the last couple of weeks, but finally we can introduce the Spanish software. The first month there might be some small errors in some of the texts, but for the May update we expect to remove all of these.
At the same time we have started a colaboration with CardPlayer Spain, where Raul Vicente the director of the magazine will be a part of the LiiPoker Pro Team. So together with Jeppe Bech Sørensen, Sergio Rios and Ernesto Jimenez I believe we have formed a very strong team, which should give us some good results and visibility in the tournaments they play.
In May we will launch a number of promotions to celebrate our new team and our Spanish software.

We are changing the minimum buy-in on our cash tables
By admin | March 24, 2010
Effective from April 8th we will change the minimum buy-in of our cash tables to 30 bb on all levels. On levels 0.25/0.50 and lower we will have shallow stack tables, where the minimum buy-in is 20 bb and the maximum buy-in is 50 bb.
The reason for this change in minimum buy-in is to avoid short stack players. It has not been a big problem with short stack players, as we have seen that there are a lot more on other sites, but by making the change now, we will prevent it from becoming a big problem. We also believe that many sites in the industry will follow suit and most sites will do some kind of short stack prevention.
Even though it is not against the rules, the short stack strategy takes away any post flop play, which is also a part of the game and the player leaves the table once he reaches 30 bb or doubles his stack and moves to another table. This is normally not possible in a live poker game and it is also considered unethical by most poker players.
For those who prefer to play with a shorter stack, it will still be possible to play the shallow stack tables on the low levels.

First new LiiPoker player signed
By admin | March 8, 2010
On the first of March we signed with the first new LiiPoker player. Not even a week after signing with us he took down the first live tour. Yesterday he won the Marbella Classic which we sponsored last year and €20.000 along with it. Don’t say I can’t spot talent
Sergio Ríos “Patxypot” is a doctor who has been playing poker for several years now. I know him both from playing against him in different tours here on the coast but also personally and I know he will be a great ambassador for LiiPoker.
We all welcome him to the LiiPoker Force!

As promised we have lanched our new web site, which marked the beginning of the new LiiPoker and in 2010 you should see several changes in LiiPoker.
At the moment we are making some internal changes in LiiPoker, but this is not something that will affect the players or affiliates in any way.
We have just ended our relationship with Santi and are looking for a new profile in Spain. We would like to find another type of profile for LiiPoker and Santi would like to explore other options, so we have decided to end the relationship. We wish Santi good luck with his future in the poker world. Read the rest of this entry »

Poker Camps and Poker High School
By admin | October 9, 2009
We are going to try to improve the level of the poker players on the Costa Del Sol and in Barcelona. Santi is doing a poker camp this weekend in Barcelona, which we expect to see in the news on several national tv channels. We are of course very excited about his. You can read more information about the camp on Santi’s blog.
Last week we started the Poker High School in Casino Marbella. The first class was strictly for beginners, but we will be raising the level for the next classes. Both Jeppe and I will be teaching, where I will do beginners classes and Jeppe the more advanced classes. The Poker High School is free and is held every tuesday in Casino Marbella at 18.00.
The 21st and 22nd of November we will be doing a poker camp with Jeppe and Santi as the teachers. Here is all the information: Read the rest of this entry »

WSOPE London
By admin | October 1, 2009

Last weekend I took at trip to London with my wife and some friends. We wanted to see the WSOPE, the Caesars Cup and do a bit of turism. LiiPoker did not have any players in any of the tournaments, so it was completely relaxed and had no work to do. I think the WSOPE is the real world championsship, about 300 players participated and among them where just about all the poker super stars of the world and very few fish, so here you play against a very tought field of poker players, where many of the make very few mistakes. José Luis Moreno won the bounty and second place in the tournament when he knocked Jeppe out with KQ vs. 77 all-in preflop and a 7 came on the flop. Ernesto “Grischuck” Jimenez won the tournament and €5.490.
Next week the bounty is on Ernesto

Connectivity Issues
By admin | September 7, 2009
Over the last week, the Network experienced a series of connectivity issues that has culminated in a prolonged interruption of services. We have now traced the problem to an external connectivity disruption directly impacting performance at the data center.
We apologize for the delay in responding to players about the disruption but until now, we didn’t have sufficient information to make an announcement. The good news is that the problem has now been identified and we have a solution which will be released shortly. Doubly important is the fact that the solution being implemented will prevent this type of occurrence from ever happening again. Read the rest of this entry »

Santi and the Mercedes
By admin | September 7, 2009

José Manuel Robles knocked Santi out in 9th place and won a day in the car you can see on the picture. We are not sure, but someone mentioned he did not have a driver’s license.
The winner of the tournament was Gary Collins, who we know from many of the local tournaments and also from the Marbella Classic. He took the 1st prize of €5.285.
Congratulations to both of them.
